Additional Information About the Artist

In his own words, “In my rational mind I am inspired by techniques and machines and my irrational side is attracted by the complex shapes of nature. I want my bags to look like huge jewels or empty sculptures that you can fill and carry with you…"

Simon began his career in industrial design as a university student; he incorporates his knowledge of technique, form, materials with an artist’s eye for style and nature. His whimsical purses truly are technical marvels made of laminated sheets of vinyl molded by presses, die-cut and sewn. And now with the use of fabric like velvet, the possibilities are endless. The handles which are removable are clear plastic filled with tiny beads. They are unlined and have no interior pockets. They are as Simon says empty sculptures that can be filled. They are only sold in select boutiques in Canada and U.S.A. We are proud to offer Simon’s work; we even think they deserve to be displayed as the wonderful works of art that they are on a table or wall.
